Spanning 12 major divisions across vast distances—where journeys between regions can take 4 to 12 hours by road or require air travel—Sarawak is a land of extraordinary diversity and untapped potential.
Each division is home to unique tribal communities, speaking different languages and dialects, and celebrating distinct cultural traditions. From the vibrant longhouse festivals of the Iban to the colorful harvest celebrations of the Bidayuh, from the joyful Hari Raya gatherings of the Malay community to the spirited Chinese New Year festivities that light up towns and cities, Sarawak’s cultural heartbeat never fades.
